CMYK, four color process, (photo realistic, fine art, abstract artwork). CMYK is for light color garments only and cannot be used with our plastisol heat transfers. We print these directly onto your garment of choice. We can print CMYK onto a dark garment but the Image will appear dull and not as vibrant as a light garment (Keep in mind, some business choose to print on dark garments for this reason). We suggest simulated printing for darker colors.
CMYK Pricing: $50 dollars per hour (60 minutes minimal charge)
All areas in the art that are to be printed in white ink, must be shown in the artwork by using a false/spot white that looks different then the background. If the background of the image is white and you want the image to have white ink, you must use this false/spot white so we know that you need white ink and are not just printing on a white t-shirt or garment.
Simulated printing
Designs using halftones for Dark garments (Using a half toned white underbase). Simulated printing is not currently available for custom heat transfers. We do offer simulated printing when directly screen printing a garment.
Pricing: will vary on the complexity of your design.
Four Color Process Files
Four Color Process files must be sent in high resolution (300 DPI or higher) your file needs to be color separated and will be reviewed by a color separate specialist. Currently the four color process is not available for custom plastisol heat transfers. We do offer four color process when directly screen printing a garment.
please see our custom in stock ink color chart and most popular inks: colors in stock
Need a different or custom color that we do not have available? We recommend that you select a color from the Solid Coated Pantone formula guide here (Panton Colors). We can mix any of the PMS colors that you select from that list. Once you have found and selected the PMS color of your choice, please indicated each color chosen by using the corresponding pantone number
We can match the PMS number you had supplied with our in-house matching by hand for $30.00. As stated above this is matching by hand and is matched as close as possible.
If you require an exact PMS matching, It will need to be done by our ink manufacturer for $75.00 per match.
Many inks are not opaque enough for the ink to be place onto dark garments, causing dye migration or bleeding (The color of the shirt bleeds into the design, causing it to be darker and then intended) If printing onto dark garments, a white underbase is recommended to ensure your designs pops and looks as intended. Having a white underbase helps keep the design achieve a higher level of brilliance and opacity (Thickness/fullness). Most designs that are being printed onto a dark garment should have a underbase, unless a blending or color tone look is desired. The heat transfers underbase will not be as opaque as garments being directly screen printed on top of a flash cured white underbase.
Because each under base is unique to itself, we cannot accept artwork requiring an underbase as print ready. Therefor there is an art charge of $20.00 per design requiring a white underbase.
Line weights refers to the thickness of a line or stroke (Any area of ink) and the thickness of space between two lines or any area of ink to allow the garment color to show between the ink areas. We are not responsible for any lines that do not transfer onto the heat transfer/garment as a result of thin lines.
All lines, strokes and open areas between lines to allow the shirt to show though must be at a minimum of 2 Pts in visible width. See line weights
All lines, strokes and open areas between lines to allow the shirt to show though must be at a minimum of 3 Pts in visible width.
If you are using gradient or fades in your spot colors, the image will be converted into multiple dots. Halftones help create the illusion and depth within your design. Though halftones are not recommended for plastisol heat transfers, they can be used, but larger halftones dots should be used. We are not responsible for any lines/halftone dots that do not transfer onto the heat transfer/garment as a result of thin or tiny dots.
See example: Gradient for a view of halftones through gradients.
Shades or tones above 50% or below 10% can be problematic when printing or during application/pressing
You cannot place 100% of one color over 100% of another color to create a third (3rd) color. You can place a shade/tone or fading halftones onto another color to create the illusion of a third (3rd) color.
See example: White into black gradient
There are multiple manufacturers causing each and every heat press is going to vary in pressure and heat. We recommend you order extra custom heat transfers to test your machine to dial in you pressure and heat temperature.
If you apply a transfer and it does not print properly, Stop and adjust your press. Test your press with the same (already printed) garment using various pressure and heat temperature until the problem is resolved. Don’t waste new garments for testing!
Check your temperature
The temperature of your heat press will fluctuate once you begin pressing, as the heat press metal platen will transfer heat to each garment you print. It is highly recommended to continue to check and monitor the heat of your heat press during a production run, and allow the heat to rejuvenate if the heat begins to drop. Usually there is a temperature gauge on your heat press but it is still important to check the temperature of your heat platen manually. An accurate way to manually check your heat platen is by using a digital pyrometer. When checking your heat platen check for the following:
Check your pressure
Make sure you have medium to heavy pressure when using heat transfers.
